The Bonfire on the Beach 0
Ok, not exactly a bonfire, but the title sounded nicer that way. Since it was a nice summer evenning, and we were located about 400 meters from the sea, we of course decided to grill and eat on the beach.
The result of the bikeride: the stolen apples, the sour blackberries, sweet homemade honey bought on the way – and some peaches we happened to have, you can’t find eveything on the beach! We added some marzipan, and grilled the stuff in the tin foil. It tasted as childhood, hot summerdays and promises in every bite.
The grill. This one didn’t work, so I had to make a run for it and by another one before the only store in town closed.
Meanwhile my boyfriend showed off his stone throwing skills.
The view. On nice beach, I tell ya. It’s actually the same one we evening bathed on a couple of years ago.
Oh, and the food. It was fresh salmon with spices, sparerips and loads of vegetables. It tasted like heaven.
Others were out enjoying the evening too. We saw and elderly couple, swimming together, and afterwards, walking home, hand in hand. And the beautiful thing is, nobody saw them – we were the only one there, and they didn’t notice us. The held hands because the cared for one another, not because they needed to show off or something.
I want to have that when I grow old.
Me eating. Not a pretty sight, and my hair looks like crap, but who cares – there’s grilled food!
Oh, and the sunset. Of course there was a sunset.
